All in a Garden Green
The early music trio, Hexachordia (www.hexachordia.com) presents a celebration of the English garden in music, song and words. Playing on authentic copies of original instruments from the Medieval and Tudor eras such as the harp, recorders, gittern, lutes and viols, the group performs music inspired by formal gardens and the English countryside. This music is interspersed with readings contemporary with the pieces, reflecting on the evolution of the English garden through to the seventeenth century.

Hexachordia
The Hexachordia trio (www.hexachordia.com) offer a fresh approach to early music. By combining music with the spoken word the trio aims to tell a story with each of their concert programmes. They believe that by placing music into context, Hexachordia brings both the historic period and the music itself to life.
They recreate the instrumental flexibility that was a key feature in music-making at the time. The ability to play a number of different musical instruments along with the possession of a good singing voice was essential for professional musicians. Each of them, therefore, specialises in a range of instruments of this period, allowing us to perform a wide range of ensemble music in different instrumental and vocal combinations.
